6/10/26 – Evening Line Cook Position at BLUE

 

Schedule: 3:30 pm to close
Compensation: $22 to $27 per hour based on experience

The highly regarded BLUE restaurant at Grey Havens Inn is seeking a line cook to join us for the 2026 season, June  – October. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the fine dining space, in a beautiful kitchen and location, with a dedicated crew.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Evening Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for preparing high‑quality dishes during dinner service, maintaining a clean and organized station, and supporting smooth kitchen operations. The ideal candidate works efficiently, communicates well, and takes pride in consistent execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines
  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station before, during, and after service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety standards
  • Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, labeling, and storing ingredients
  • Coordinate timing with other cooks to ensure smooth, efficient service
  • Monitor food quality throughout service and communicate any issues to the Chef
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling of equipment and food products
  • Support dishwashing, cleaning, and closing tasks as needed
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, team‑oriented kitchen culture

Qualifications

  • Previous line cook experience preferred, especially in a dinner‑service environment
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques
  • Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and verbal instructions accurately
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent quality
