When it comes to beloved holiday traditions, what are your favorite things to do? Visits from Santa Claus, freshly baked cookies, and Christmas caroling are a few of ours! Because the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, we’ve compiled a list of three of the best ways to enjoy Christmas in Bath, Maine and in nearby towns.  

An Old Fashioned Christmas…

Every December, downtown Bath reawakens with holiday spirit. Starting on the first weekend of December, many of the retail businesses and restaurants extend their hours. Community Tree Lighting & Santa Arrival in Bath

Saturday, November 30, 2024  |  4:00 – 6:00 PM, Library Park

Gather at Library Park for cocoa, cookies, and a carol sing-along with the Nor’easters Barbershop Chorus. The Woodland Wonderland Characters will be there for selfies. Santa arrives by Trolley  a little after 4pm.

Trolley Carroling!

December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, & 21, 2024  |  4:00 PM – 8:00

Remember to grab a blanket and enjoy a ride on the trolley, too! Trolley Caroling is a free event that is first come, first served. Pick up at City Bus Stop on Front Street.

Bright Night Bath

December 6, 2024  |  5 to 8 PM, Bath Maine

Visit Bath for a festive night with all kinds of treats in store. Shops and restaurants will have their windows bedecked in the Woodland Wonderland Theme for 2024. Many woodland characters will be wandering around waiting to interact and take selfies with you. Music will come in the form of Uno Voce Choir, the Salvation Army Brass Band, and the Second Chance Ukulele Band! The Woodland Wonderland Scavenger Hunt will be on, with chances to win Gift of Bath Certificates that you can spend at 50+ businesses! Sales, promotions, cocoa, roasted chestnuts, and cinnamon almonds await you.

Downtown Day!

December 14, 2024  |  10 AM to 1 PM, Downtown Bath

Wandering Woodland Characters will be available to chat and Santa will come through on his ATV Parade. Chewonki will present two “Hoot-portunities” for an Owl Presentation at City Hall, one at 10:30am and another at noon. 40 free tickets will be distributed onsite (first come, first serve). The Midcoast Cellistas will be sending tunes through the air from the Pocket Park on Front Street. Sales, promotions, and activities will be popping up everywhere and the Woodland Wonderland Scavenger Hunt will still be on, with more chances to win Gift of Bath Certificates to spend in 50+ businesses.

Holiday Hot Chocolate with the Volunteer Jazz Band – December 7, 7pm
A holiday concert in several genres, including jazz, swing, rock, pop, and classical. All proceeds to benefit the Chocolate Church and its vital community programs.

¡Hanukkah Mexicana! – December 13, 5pm
Join us for this multi-faceted cultural extravaganza with food, music, and dancing. Featuring the Casco Bay Tummlers & Veronica Roblés All Female Mariachi Band

Còig – December 14, 7pm
Nova Scotia’s Còig presents an evening of Celtic holiday music, with lively instrumentals, stirring vocals, and festive favorites from their Christmas albums, “Carols” and “Carols Too”.

Sing! It’s Christmas Community Sing-Along – December 16, 5pm
Join in with the Bath community at this FREE event as we come together to celebrate this joyous season. A cherished tradition of the Bath, ME.
